Christian Homeschool Enrichment Programs: Nurturing Faith, Discipleship Knowledge, and Community

Christian Homeschool Education Center: A Beacon of Support for Homeschooling Families

At the heart of our community is the Christian Homeschool Education Center, a full-time establishment dedicated to empowering homeschool families. As a non-profit ministry, our mission is to infuse homeschooling with joy, grounded in Godly principles, and aimed at making education free for all children. We sustain this vision through the generosity of donations and the active participation of our community.

Beyond just academics, we provide a nurturing environment where children can flourish socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Our team of seasoned educators, brimming with passion and dedication, focuses on unlocking every child's unique potential. In addition to financial contributions, we encourage parents to donate one hour per month at CHEC, fostering a collaborative and supportive community.

Whether you're embarking on your homeschooling journey or have been navigating this path for years, our doors are always open. We stand as a steadfast partner in education, not just as a resource, but as a community pillar, advocating for free access to quality education, supported by the collective efforts and contributions of our families.

  • What is CHEC?
CHEC is not a traditional school; we are a homeschool resource center designed to complement your parent-led homeschooling. While parents are the primary educators and award homeschool credits, our classes serve as valuable supplementary enrichment.
  • Are the educators at CHEC certified?
Our educators are a diverse group—some hold teaching certifications, while others are gifted members of the Christian community keen on sharing their knowledge. Regardless of certification, all educators align with our Statement of Faith and undergo thorough background checks to ensure a safe learning environment.
  • How much time is needed for homeschooling?
Homeschooling time can vary widely, from 30 minutes to 3 hours per day, depending on your family’s unique rhythm and the season of life you are in.
  • What are the costs associated with CHEC?
We have an annual registration fee of $59, with a nominal $1 fee for each additional sibling. Classes are priced at $8 each, and there may be additional costs for books or materials as needed.
  • Is parental participation required?
We encourage a collaborative community spirit and ask that families contribute two hours of volunteer time each month to enrich our collective experience.
  • Does CHEC offer financial aid?
Yes, we accept the "Unique Abilities" portion of the Step Up for Students scholarship to assist families.
  • How many classes can students take?
CHEC is intended to support your homeschooling efforts with hands-on, supplemental enrichment classes. The number of classes a student can take varies depending on individual homeschooling schedules and needs.
  • Can non-Marion County residents participate?
Absolutely! We welcome families from all locations, keeping in mind that we are a Christ-centered program with specific membership bylaws and a Statement of Faith.
  • What summer programs are available?
We offer a range of summer activities, including parent education courses, reading programs, and various camps. Details and updates are always available on our website.
  • Am I qualified to homeschool my child?
Yes, you are! Parents are the ultimate educators for their children, and CHEC is here to support you with resources and guidance.
  • Does CHEC provide portfolio reviews?
Indeed, we have licensed teachers available to conduct portfolio reviews and provide feedback.
  • Are assessments available through CHEC?
Yes, we offer assessments to help gauge student progress.
  • Does CHEC supply an essential curriculum?
We do provide essential curriculum materials at the family's expense and maintain a stock of curriculum for our classes to avoid delays in accessing resources.
